When it comes to the topic of Ozempic, Jillian Michaels‘ stance doesn’t look like it is ever-changing.
The fitness guru reiterated her stance on the dangers associated with the use of Ozempic, including any health issues that may arise.
Jillian Michaels joins James Corden and others in their advocacy against the indiscriminate use of the drug for aesthetic purposes.
Jillian Michaels Came Strong With The Stats Against Ozempic
The fitness expert encouraged people concerned with their health and safety not to let the weight loss benefit of the drug distract them from the real issues.
Michaels noted that the thousands of chemicals in the food are poison to the human system and contribute to the growing rate of obesity in the first place.
She provided facts and figures from a new study explaining how many people stopped using Ozempic after a year due to a weight plateau. The author noted that Americans have too many vices preventing them from eating and living healthily.
According to TMZ, the fitness enthusiast also engaged in a war of words with celebrity plastic surgeon Dr. Terry Dubrow over their different perspectives on using Ozempic.
Michaels Spoke Up On The Effects Of Ozempic Last Year
In February 2023, The Blast reported that the health expert’s public campaign on the harmful consequences of using Ozempic began last year. She shared that sites like Wegovy contained all of the side effects of drugs like Ozempic that were initially never created for weight loss.
Michaels identified effects such as heart palpitations, nausea, and vomiting as the common, mild ones. She continued that they can become as severe as thyroid cancer, liver disease, kidney failure, and the rest.
She also slammed the companies producing the drugs and accused them of being concerned with their sales and not the health of their consumer base that tends to use drugs like Ozempic incorrectly.
The Certified Nutritionist Encouraged Regular Exercising Instead Of Weight Loss Drugs
Michaels addressed the company’s selling point, which promises its users that they can drop 15 percent of their weight in 68 weeks, which, according to her, is about a year and a half of weight loss.
The businesswoman explained that regular diet and exercise can also help people achieve that feat. Michaels continued that her fitness program can help those with weight problems lose up to one pound a week.
She added that people using weight loss drugs eventually manage to lose about 25 pounds after a year and a half of usage, while regular diet and exercise can aid up to 70 pounds of weight loss within the same timeframe.
The ‘Biggest Loser’ Star Demanded Honesty From The Production Companies
The 50-year-old noted that the risk of losing all the weight with the aid of those drugs is that users will gain it back, adding that the drug companies have confirmed the fact themselves.
Michaels, however, clarified that she was not mocking the companies, but they needed to have an open, honest conversation about the drugs and the actual issue with dabbling into them.
The fitness coach added that her claims were not fabricated but based on data obtained directly from the companies. Michaels noted that she would not take that kind of risk on her own body, adding: “It’s extremely dangerous and risky, and not worth it.”
Jillian Michaels Is Part Of The Ozempic Conversation
The drug has become quite the staple in Hollywood for a few years now, with many celebrities admitting to using it and others denying adding it to their routine.
Comedian Chelsea Handler previously revealed that she used the drug for about a week and had no idea it was Ozempic because she called it by the medical name.
Handler noted that she felt nauseous while on the medication and also experienced some of the other side Jillian described. As for Kyle Richards, her body transformation has nothing to do with Ozempic.
The “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star clarified that she spends hours at the gym with her bestie and self-proclaimed “accountability coach,” Teddi Mellencamp, to achieve her dream body, which she will not stop showing off in selfies.
Will Jillian Michaels’s advice salvage the rest of Hollywood’s population from jumping on the Ozempic trend? Only time will tell.
